Today, July 4, 2025, NCOC, the operator of the North Caspian Project, proudly announced the achievement of one billion barrels of oil production since the restart of the Kashagan field in 2016. This truly historic achievement is the result of the hard work of thousands of people involved in the project, which makes a significant contribution to the socio-economic development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
 

From October 2 to 4, 2025, Kazakhstan Energy Week – 2025 / XVI Eurasian Forum KAZENERGY (KEW-2025) will be held in Astana, at the Palace of Independence. 

The forum is the largest international platform for discussing key global energy issues, bringing together over 2,500 delegates from 50 countries. This year's event marks the 20th anniversary of the KAZENERGY Association, making it particularly significant. The forum's central theme will be "New Energy Order: Focus on Middle Powers," and the program includes sessions on energy transition, climate, investment, digitalization, and new technologies. Central Asia Oil and Gas Exhibition (CAOG 2025), one of the largest events in the oil, gas and energy sector of the region, will be held in Aktau from September 24 to 26, 2025. 

     

The exhibition will bring together over 200 exhibiting companies and over 3,500 participants from around the world, offering new business opportunities and the implementation of advanced technologies. The exhibition will cover a wide range of solutions, from pumping and compressor equipment to chemical reagents and automation systems. CAOG 2025 will become an important platform for strengthening international cooperation and exchanging experience. Participants will have the opportunity to establish contacts with regulators, industry organizations, and leading suppliers from China and other countries, which will allow Kazakhstan to strengthen its position in the global energy market

On September 6, 2025, the annual PetroMaintenance 2025 forum will be held in Atyrau , organized by PetroCouncil with the support of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan. PetroMaintenance 2025, организованный PetroCouncil при поддержке Министерства энергетики РК.

     

The event will bring together national and international companies, service organizations, and experts to discuss key maintenance issues in the oil and gas industry. The program includes plenary and thematic sessions on equipment maintenance, process digitalization, pipeline construction and operation, and best practices for implementing large-scale projects. Participants and speakers include top managers from KazMunayGas, QazaqGaz, TCO, KPO, NCOC, and other leading companies.

On August 29, the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Erlan Akkenzhenov, introduced the new Vice Minister, Sanzhar Zharkeshov. 

     

Sanzhar Zharkeshov hails from the Karaganda region. He graduated from the T. Ryskulov Kazakh University of Economics and the University of Texas at Austin (USA). He began his career at the Center for Petroleum and Geosystems Engineering in the US, then worked as an engineer and project manager at ExxonMobil, developing and developing fields in Kazakhstan, the US, Iraq, and Russia. He later held leadership and expert positions at the international companies Merlin ERD and McKinsey & Company, where he participated in projects in Europe, Asia, and the Americas. In Kazakhstan, he served as Vice Minister of Ecology, Geology, and Natural Resources, and since 2022, has headed the national company QazaqGaz.
